OUT OF TOWN MERCHANTS CAN SELL AFTER ALL

The City Council on Tuesday repealed an ordinance that would have banned traveling merchants from holding temporary outdoor sales in the city. In September, council members hailed the ordinance as a victory for local businesses - until a lawyer for an Indiana hardware company said it also violated the U.S. Constitution by discriminating against out-of-state businesses. City Attorney Tom Morrison advised council members to get rid of the ordinance.
